Clematis Street: WPB's Entertainment Hub

Clematis Street has more going on than most people realize. The events calendar is what separates it from any other street in WPB — and most of it is free and walkable from downtown condos.

Clematis Street: WPB's Entertainment Hub

There are streets in South Florida with better restaurants, and streets with better bars. What Clematis Street has that none of them can match is the events calendar — a year-round rotation of outdoor concerts, holiday celebrations, farmers markets, and waterfront festivals that turns downtown WPB into a genuine neighborhood rather than just a place to park and eat.

Fourth of July

Clematis Street: WPB's Entertainment Hub

The Fourth of July on the WPB waterfront is one of the best free events in South Florida. Fireworks launched over the Intracoastal, thousands of people lining Flagler Drive, boats anchored in the water below. For residents in the Flagler Drive and downtown buildings, you don't need to go anywhere — you watch from your balcony or walk two blocks to the water. It's one of those nights that makes the location click in a way no floor plan ever quite captures.

Holiday Season: Sandi, Ice Skating, and the #1 Display in the USA

Every December, downtown WPB earns a title most people don't expect: the waterfront holiday display on Flagler Drive has been ranked the #1 best public holiday light display in the United States. The centerpiece is Sandi — a 35-foot Christmas tree sculpted entirely from sand, built right on the waterfront. Right next to her is Ferris, a Ferris wheel that's become part of the display. WPB has been doing this for years and the sand artists get more impressive every season. It's one of those things you have to see in person because photos don't capture the scale of it.

What makes December in downtown WPB especially unusual: there's an outdoor ice skating rink set up in front of the Ben Hotel on Second Street. Ice skating outdoors in South Florida in 75-degree weather — it sounds like a joke until you're doing it. The rink draws a crowd every night of the season and turns the whole downtown area into something that actually feels like the holidays, which is harder to pull off in a tropical climate than you'd think.

If you own a condo in the downtown corridor, December becomes one of the best months of the year rather than the slowest.

Clematis by Night

The city's outdoor concert series runs along Clematis and the waterfront, bringing live music to the street on a regular basis throughout the season. It's free, it's walkable, and it's the kind of programming that makes a Friday evening feel like a decision you don't have to overthink. For residents of the downtown condo corridor, this is your backyard entertainment — no cover, no car, no rideshare surge.

St. Patrick's Day

Clematis goes all out for St. Patrick's Day. The street fills up, the bars spill onto the sidewalks, and the whole corridor has an energy that's hard to find in most South Florida cities. It's become one of the signature days on the WPB social calendar.

Green Market Saturdays

Every Saturday from October through May, the WPB GreenMarket sets up at the waterfront just off Clematis — 150+ vendors, fresh produce, prepared food, coffee, flowers. It flows naturally into brunch on Clematis, making Saturday morning one of the best routines downtown WPB has to offer.

The Street Itself

Beyond the events, Clematis has the bars, the live music venues, the restaurants, and the wide sidewalks that make the whole corridor work. The music here is live — not DJ sets — and the outdoor seating runs year-round in a climate that cooperates. For downtown condo residents, it's the walkable entertainment district that makes not owning a car on a Saturday night feel like a lifestyle choice rather than a logistical problem.
